Physiology is a Greek word which literally means knowledge of nature. (Physio-nature; logy-discource).
This word was used in times when physiology and philosophy were not much different. But currently physiology implies the study of the function of living organisms.

The department is supported by clinical physiology, haematology and biochemistry laboratories.
